Sueno Del Mar
Sueno Del Mar is a 2002, 15.2 hand, bay gelding. He is a sweet horse, not your average high-tempered race horse. His owners took him in as a favor to friends after he was injured in his last race. He is a 6 year-old thoroughbred retired from racing due to any injury he incurred on Thanksgiving Day, 2006. The vet said he would make a great dressage or pleasure show horse he may be sound for low level jumping. His injury was a cracked sesamoid. He was stall-rested for three months after his injury and has been out-to-pasture since. He has been fine with the other horses (who are much older). He has current x-rays that say he is healed and can be ridden and maybe even jumped. He has not been ridden since retiring from the track. He has not shown any signs of lameness since he was let back out over a year ago. His shots are up to date. The vet said he has the potential for Dressage, English Pleasure, etc. He is a sweet horse and has gotten along well with the owner's quarterhorses (both geldings). He is known as “Mr. Cheese” by his previous owners for the way he begs for his peppermint candy. Although he has not been ridden in over a year, he has never given his owner any trouble haltering or leading. He is very playful out in the pasture. He follows them along the pasture fence when they are on the riding lawn mower because he knows he is going to get a big pile of freshly cut grass from the grass catcher. He will always approach visitirs when he sees them at the fence or in the pasture. He is a very curious, friendly horse. He is a son of Behrens who won $4.5 million dollars racing! Current x-rays from last week are available. He has been let down and he is ready for a new career.
